LYTH Philosophy

01 LITH

In contemporary cities, movement has become constant. We are surrounded by noise, urgency, expectation and endless acceleration. Yet within all movement, there remains a quiet centre — a state of stillness capable of holding tension without collapsing beneath it. LYTH begins from this belief. Rooted in the Korean philosophy of Jeong-Jung-Dong (靜中動), we see stillness not as absence, but as condensed energy waiting to unfold. True balance emerges when restraint and instinct no longer oppose each other, but coexist as one continuous form.

도시에서 움직임은 멈추지 않는다. 소음과 조급함, 기대와 끝없는 가속이 우리를 둘러싼다. 그러나 모든 움직임의 한가운데에는 고요한 중심이 있다. 무너지지 않고 긴장을 견디는 상태다. LYTH는 이 믿음에서 시작한다. 정중동(靜中動)에서 우리는 고요를 비어 있음이 아니라 아직 펼쳐지지 않은 응축된 에너지로 읽는다. 절제와 본능이 서로를 밀어내기를 멈추고 하나의 연속된 형태로 공존할 때, 비로소 균형이 생긴다.

02 LITH × LITHE We do not approach garments as objects made simply to cover the body. Clothing, for us, is architecture. A structure built around human movement; something capable of supporting posture, holding tension and guiding instinct towards its most refined expression. The body bends, weakens and adapts under the gravity of contemporary life. LYTH responds through form — constructing quiet frameworks that stabilise movement while leaving freedom untouched. Precision becomes softness. Control becomes liberation. 우리는 옷을 몸을 덮는 물건으로 보지 않는다. 우리에게 옷은 건축이다. 인간의 움직임을 중심으로 세운 구조. 자세를 지탱하고, 긴장을 붙들고, 본능을 가장 정제된 표현으로 이끄는 구조다. 몸은 도시의 중력 아래에서 휘고, 약해지고, 적응한다. LYTH는 형태로 답한다. 움직임을 안정시키되 자유는 건드리지 않는 조용한 골격을 세운다. 정밀함은 부드러움이 된다. 통제는 해방이 된다.

03 LITH · LITHE · Y At the foundation of LYTH exists LITH — permanence, weight and rational structure. It is the architectural skeleton; the silent discipline beneath all forms. Opposing yet completing it is LITHE, the fluid energy of instinct — movement without force, flexibility without fragility, an untamed rhythm moving beneath restraint. These two forces meet within Y, a point of equilibrium where structure and instinct become inseparable. LYTH exists within this intersection. LYTH의 바닥에는 LITH가 있다. 영속과 무게, 이성적 구조다. 모든 형태 아래 놓인 건축적 골격이자 침묵의 규율이다. 그것에 맞서면서 동시에 그것을 완성하는 것이 LITHE다. 본능의 유연한 에너지 — 힘을 쓰지 않는 움직임, 무르지 않은 유연함, 절제 아래 흐르는 길들지 않은 리듬이다. 이 두 힘은 Y 안에서 만난다. 구조와 본능이 더 이상 나뉘지 않는 균형점이다. LYTH는 그 교차점에 존재한다.
